Cancelation Policy: We ask that whenever possible, you provide at least 24hrs notice of any appointment cancelations. If you are unable to keep your appointment as scheduled, please call or text us as soon as possible so that we can get you rescheduled and offer the original appointment to another client from our waitlist. If you are late for your appointment by 15 minutes or more you will be considered a No-Show and the appointment will be cancelled. Inadequate notice for cancellations or no-shows will result in fees of 50% of the missed appointment, up to the full value for repeat offenses. Thank you for understanding!

Drop Off/Pick Up Policy: All pets should be dropped off no more than 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment time, and picked up no more than 30 minutes after our call informing you that they're almost finished. Being a kennel-free salon, we aren't equipped for dogs spending extended periods of time here outside of their appointment window. If pets are consistently picked up late additional charges may be applied.

Matted Pet Policy: We strongly believe in "Humanity over Vanity" and will always do what's best for your pet, especially in situations where matting is present. Our groomers do their best to avoid causing undue stress and discomfort to the pets in our care which means that we will not brush out matting. It's important to note that matted hair can cause and hide a variety of skin irritations and injuries. These can include, but are not limited to, infections, hot spots, bruising, and even parasites. Matting typically requires a close shave to safely remove which can also lead to skin irritation and/or minor nicks. We are not responsible for any pre-existing conditions of any kind uncovered by the removal of matting, nor for any injury or irritation that occurs during or after the removal of matting. Lastly, we reserve the right to turn away pets with a high risk of injury during the removal of matting, or any client which refuses to allow us to do what's best for their pet.

Puppy Policy: Our priority during a puppy’s first grooming appointment is to create a positive, stress-free experience - not to complete a full haircut. These early visits are all about introducing your pup to the sights, sounds, smells, and handling of the salon in a gentle, low-pressure way. It’s common for puppies to behave differently in the salon than they do at home. Even if your pup loves baths and brushing with you, they may still feel unsure or wiggly with new people, tools, and surroundings, and that’s perfectly normal! We’ll never push a puppy past their comfort zone and do not guarantee a full groom during early visits. Instead, we focus on light trimming (typically face, feet, and sanitary areas) and positive handling to build trust and confidence for the future.

Pest Policy: We recommend using a flea, tick, and heart worm preventative for all pets year round, but especially during peak seasons. If pests of any kind are discovered while grooming your pet, we will automatically treat the issue accordingly. Fees will be applied in proportion to the extent of the problem.
Scheduling Policy: All appointments are first-come, first-served. We recommend pre-booking at least two to three appointments at a time to ensure that you're able to keep your pups on the best schedule for you. If you opt not to pre-book your appointments, we will do our best to find an appointment that works for everyone, however it may not be the exact day or time that you'd prefer. Appointments can be booked in person, over the phone, by text, or through our appointment request form on our website.

Vaccination Policy: For the safety of our staff and all pets in our care, you must be able to provide current vaccination records for any and all pets that receive services at Very Important Pooch.

Pet Potty Policy: Even if your pup had a walk before leaving home, the excitement of the car ride and arrival at the salon often means they may need a quick potty break upon arrival. We kindly ask that you plan to arrive a few minutes early to give your dog a chance to relieve themselves before their appointment. This helps us keep the salon clean and comfortable for all our guests.

Our staff thanks you for your understanding and cooperation.
We look forward to serving you and your Very Important Pooch!
